Annie is back in Washington D.C. after a successful mission in Copenhagen. She is ready to reconnect with her friends and colleagues and get back to work. However, things take an unexpected turn when she is assigned to work with a new partner, Danielle, on a case involving a young woman named Larisa who is suspected of being a Russian spy.
Annie and Danielle are tasked with keeping an eye on Larisa and gathering evidence against her. However, as they begin to unravel the case, they realize that things may not be as they seem. Larisa's story doesn't add up and they begin to suspect that she may not be a Russian spy after all.
Meanwhile, Arthur is dealing with the fallout from his affair with Teo's mother. He is worried about Teo's safety and the consequences of their relationship, both personally and professionally. Joan tries to reassure him and offers her support, but Arthur is still wracked with guilt and unsure of how to proceed.
Back at Langley, Auggie is trying to maintain order and keep his team focused while dealing with a personal crisis of his own. His girlfriend, Natasha, has unexpectedly broken up with him, leaving him heartbroken and struggling to cope.
As the investigation into Larisa's true identity heats up, Annie and Danielle are forced to go on the run as they try to protect Larisa from those who would do her harm. With the clock ticking and their every move being monitored, Annie and Danielle must use all of their skills and resources to keep Larisa safe and bring the real culprits to justice.
In the end, Annie and Danielle are able to uncover the truth behind Larisa's identity and bring those responsible to justice. However, the experience has left Annie and Danielle shaken and uncertain about the future of their partnership.
With the case closed, Annie is left to ponder her next move and the direction she wants her career to take. Meanwhile, Arthur and Joan work to repair the damage done by Arthur's affair and Auggie tries to move on from his heartbreak and find happiness once again.
