Ep 10. Flame Spirit (Ifrit)

Shido and Tohka's date is interrupted by news of a new Spirit, Ifrit, appearing in town. Kotori sends the Fraxinus to investigate while Shido and the others head to the mall where Ifrit has been spotted. As they arrive, they find that the mall has been turned into a medieval castle by Ifrit's flames. The group splits up to search for Ifrit, and Shido encounters a young girl who claims to be Ifrit's "master." The girl, who introduces herself as Rio, is befriended by Shido and reveals that she was responsible for summoning Ifrit. However, she did so accidentally and can no longer control the Spirit.

As the group continues to search for Ifrit, they encounter Ellen, who has been sent by DEM Industries to eliminate the Spirit. Shido tries to reason with Ellen, but she is reluctant to listen. Eventually, Ifrit appears and a battle ensues between the Spirit and Ellen. Shido uses his abilities to seal Ifrit, but he is interrupted by Rio, who tries to save the Spirit. In the chaos, Ifrit escapes and Shido is forced to use his powers again to stop her. Rio is gravely injured in the process, and Shido is overcome with guilt for not being able to save her.

Back on the Fraxinus, Kotori reveals that Rio is actually a Wizard who had lost control of her powers, which led to the accidental summoning of Ifrit. Kotori suspects that Rio's sudden appearance may be related to the appearance of other Spirits and Wizards. Meanwhile, Shido continues to struggle with his guilt over Rio's condition. Tohka comforts him and tells him that he did the right thing, even if it was difficult. The episode ends with the group looking towards the future, uncertain of what challenges lie ahead.
