Ep 3. The Game

In Desperate Housewives season 4 episode 3, titled The Game, the ladies of Wisteria Lane are up to their usual shenanigans. Susan is trying to win back Mike's heart by pretending to be a nurse, while her daughter Julie develops a crush on her young teacher. Lynette is struggling with a guilt-ridden conscience after getting a promotion at work by blackmailing her boss. Meanwhile, Bree is attempting to keep up appearances with her marriage falling apart and Gabrielle is getting ready to host a charity event.

The episode kicks off with Susan attempting to sneak into the hospital to see Mike. However, things don't go as planned as she finds out that Mike's new girlfriend, Katherine, is a doctor at the same hospital. Desperate to win back Mike, Susan pretends to be a nurse to sneak into his room and check on him. She ends up stealing Katherine's medical coat and accidentally adds medication to Mike's IV that causes him to hallucinate. Susan is eventually caught by Katherine and is forced to tell Mike the truth about her feelings for him.

Elsewhere, Lynette is struggling with the fact that she got a promotion by blackmailing her boss. She confides in her friends on Wisteria Lane, but rather than getting sympathy, they tell her that she needs to come clean. Lynette decides to do the right thing and tells her boss the truth. However, he doesn't take it well and fires her. In the end, Lynette is left feeling guilty and jobless.

Bree, on the other hand, is trying to keep up appearances despite her marriage falling apart. She enlists the help of her friend Katherine to write a love letter to her husband to make it seem like they are still happy. However, when her husband, Orson, catches on to the ruse, he leaves Bree and she is left alone.

Meanwhile, Gabrielle is preparing to host a charity event at her home. She is excited to show off her wealth and impress her friends, but things don't go as planned when her husband, Carlos, gets drunk and makes a scene. Gabrielle tries to cover it up, but her friends and other guests are clearly upset with Carlos. In the aftermath of the party, Gabrielle is left wondering if her marriage is falling apart.

In addition to the main storylines, there are a few side stories happening in The Game. Julie, Susan's daughter, develops a crush on her young teacher, and Gabrielle's daughter, Juanita, gets into trouble at school for stealing. Overall, the episode is a typical Desperate Housewives episode, full of drama, humor, and scandal.
