Guy Fieri is continuing his culinary expedition across America on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" season 12 episode 12. In this episode called "Global Comfort," Guy is exploring some of the best comfort food spots in the country.
First up, in Miami, Guy heads to a Haitian spot called "Mama's Delicias De La Abuela" to try some traditional Caribbean dishes like goat stew and fried plaintains. Mama's Delicias De La Abuela is run by a mother and daughter who brought their family recipes from Haiti to Miami.
Next, up in Canton, Ohio, Guy visits a diner called "Lindy's Home Plate" that's been in business for over 50 years. Lindy's Home Plate serves up classic American comfort food like omelets, pancakes and burgers. Guy can't resist the homemade hot sauce made from secret ingredients.
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Guy visits "Barelas Coffee House," which has been family-owned and operated since 1938. Barelas Coffee House combines traditional New Mexican cuisine with classic diner fare, creating unique dishes like green chile stew and stuffed sopaipillas.
At a restaurant called "Toast" in Birmingham, Alabama, Guy tries their unique twist on classic Southern comfort food. Toast serves up dishes like chicken and waffles with bacon jam and shrimp and grits with a spicy tomato sauce.
In Portland, Oregon, Guy visits a restaurant called "The Observatory," which serves up globally-inspired comfort food dishes like Korean style tacos and an Italian meatball mac and cheese. The Observatory also has an extensive beer and cocktail menu to go with their eclectic menu.
Finally, in Boston, Guy visits a restaurant called "Flour Bakery + Cafe" that's been serving up delicious baked goods and sandwiches since 2000. Flour Bakery + Cafe uses simple, high quality ingredients to make their pastries, breads, and sandwiches. Guy tastes a classic turkey and cranberry sandwich and one of their famous sticky buns.
