In season 2009, episode 27 of the popular food show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Guy Fieri visits a number of unique and interesting restaurants offering dishes that can only be found at their particular establishment. Guy travels throughout the United States and the Caribbean, sampling some of the most creative and delicious cuisine the region has to offer.

The first restaurant Guy visits in this episode is a place called Jethro's Barbecue in Des Moines, Iowa. Jethro's is famous for its giant "Adam Emmenecker" sandwich, which features a variety of meats, cheese, and onion rings piled high on one sandwich. Guy watches as the cooks at Jethro's prepare the massive sandwich for him and marvels at its size. After giving the Adam Emmenecker a try, Guy moves on to some of Jethro's other specialties, including smoked wings and pulled pork.

Next, Guy travels to the Caribbean island of St. Croix, where he visits a restaurant called Harvey's. The owner, Harvey himself, is known for his creative cocktails, and Guy tries a few of these before moving on to the food. One of Harvey's signature dishes is a lobster pizza, which Guy says is "mind-blowing." Harvey also prepares a dish of conch fritters, which Guy describes as "tender and buttery."

In Charleston, South Carolina, Guy visits a restaurant called Hominy Grill, which is known for its low-country cuisine. Hominy Grill specializes in dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, and Guy tries a number of these dishes, including shrimp and grits and a bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. Guy also samples some of Hominy Grill's homemade pickles and is blown away by their flavor.

Moving on to the west coast, Guy visits a restaurant in Portland, Oregon called Pine State Biscuits. Pine State specializes in southern-style biscuits, and Guy tries a number of these, including a biscuit sandwich filled with fried chicken and gravy. Guy says that Pine State's biscuits are "unbelievably good" and that he has never tasted anything quite like them.

Finally, Guy travels to Phoenix, Arizona to visit a place called Barrio Café. Barrio Café is known for its creative Mexican cuisine, and Guy tries a number of dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. One of Barrio Café's specialties is a dish of grasshopper tacos, which Guy tries for the first time and is surprised to find that he loves. Guy is also impressed by Barrio Café's tequila selection and has a few drinks before leaving.

Overall, this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is a great showcase for some of the most unique and interesting restaurants in the country. Each restaurant that Guy visits offers something truly special, and viewers are sure to be inspired to visit these places themselves and taste the amazing food they have to offer.
