In the fourth episode of season 2009 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives titled "Just Like Yesterday," host Guy Fieri sets out to explore some of America's oldest eateries that still serve up iconic dishes that transport diners back in time with every bite.

The first stop on Guy's journey is Swett's Restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, which has been serving up classic Southern fare for over 50 years. Guy gets a taste of their famous hot chicken, a spicy fried chicken dish that Nashville is known for. He also tries their succulent meatloaf and savory collard greens, both of which have been passed down through generations of the Swett family.

Next, Guy heads to Denver, Colorado, to visit Sam's No. 3, a diner that has been serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner classics for over 90 years. Guy samples their famous Greek omelet, packed with feta, tomatoes, and gyro meat, along with their hearty pork green chili, which has won numerous awards and has become the stuff of legend in Denver.

In Burlington, Vermont, Guy visits Handy's Lunch, a classic greasy spoon that has been serving up classic burgers and hot dogs since 1945. Guy tries their famous "double dips," which are hot dogs dipped in a special sauce and then in batter before being deep-fried to perfection. He also tries their classic cheeseburger, made with local beef and cooked to juicy perfection on a classic flat-top griddle.

The final stop on Guy's journey is in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where he visits the Historic Deerfield Inn, a charming bed and breakfast that dates back to the 1700s. Guy tries their homemade corned beef hash, made with locally sourced ingredients, and their decadent maple pecan sticky buns, made with real Vermont maple syrup.

Throughout the episode, Guy showcases the rich history and classic flavors that have made these restaurants enduring favorites in their communities. From spicy hot chicken to juicy cheeseburgers and homemade sticky buns, the dishes featured on "Just Like Yesterday" invite viewers to take a delicious trip through time and savor the flavors of America's culinary past.
