Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Season 2017 Episode 18 Flavor Adventure
- July 14, 2017
In this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri embarks on a Flavor Adventure through some of America's most unique and innovative restaurants. First up is a stop in Tacoma, Washington at a family-run diner that's been serving up classic comfort food for over 50 years. Guy gets a taste of their signature dish, a crispy and juicy fried chicken, and finds out what makes it so special.
Next, Guy heads down to Jacksonville, Florida to visit a restaurant with a menu inspired by the owner's travels around the world. From Korean-style ribs to Brazilian chicken, the diverse offerings at this spot will have viewers' taste buds dancing.
In Austin, Texas, Guy hits up a seafood spot that's not afraid to take risks with their flavors. He tries out their gumbo made with blackened fish and crawfish tails, and indulges in some of their crispy oysters served with a tangy remoulade sauce.
The adventure continues in New Orleans, where Guy visits a restaurant serving up modern twists on classic Creole dishes. Their crawfish étouffée fries may sound strange, but they're a big hit with locals and tourists alike. And, of course, Guy can't leave NOLA without trying some beignets.
Finally, the Flavor Adventure comes to a close in Marin County, California at a farm-to-table eatery that sources all of their ingredients from local producers. Guy tries out their famous breakfast sandwich made with house-cured bacon and a homemade biscuit, and discovers just how important it is to eat fresh and local.
Throughout the episode, Guy not only samples some incredible dishes but also dives into the stories behind each restaurant and what makes them unique. Fans of the show will love this Flavor Adventure and may just find a new favorite eatery to add to their list.
