Discoveries... Africa: Tanzania Collection is a breathtaking documentary series that explores the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, rich culture, and fascinating history of Tanzania, the East African country famed for its natural beauty, incredible wildlife reserves, and friendly people. The show is produced by Janson Media, a leading global distributor of documentaries and educational programs, and is directed by award-winning filmmaker Patrick Morris.

The series takes viewers on an epic journey across Tanzania's varied regions, from the lush forests and rolling hills of the Usambara Mountains to the vast plains of the Serengeti and the shimmering waters of Lake Victoria. Along the way, we encounter a wealth of fascinating people and animals that call this region home, from the proud Maasai warriors and the Hadza hunter-gatherers to the majestic elephants, lions, rhinos, and giraffes that roam the savannas.

The first episode of the series, "Mountains and Forests," explores the rugged and remote regions of the Usambara Mountains, a lush ecosystem that is home to over 2,000 plant species and countless birds, monkeys, and reptiles. We meet the local farmers and traders who live off the land and learn about their traditional practices and customs, including the cultivation of cloves, one of Tanzania's most important exports.

The second episode, "The Great Rift Valley," takes us to the edge of one of the world's most dramatic geological features, a vast fissure that stretches from Syria to Mozambique. We follow the journey of the Hadza people, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, who have lived in this region for over 50,000 years. We also witness the amazing wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural sanctuary that hosts one of the world's largest concentrations of wildebeest, zebras, and other grazing animals.

In the third episode, "The Maasai Steppe," we visit the pastoralist communities of the Maasai people, a proud and resilient tribe that has preserved its cultural traditions for centuries. We see how they live alongside the wildlife of the plains, including the lions, hyenas, and other predators that threaten their livestock. We also explore the incredible biodiversity of the region, from the endangered black rhino to the colorful birds and insects that thrive in this unique habitat.

The fourth and final episode, "Lake Victoria and The Serengeti," takes us to some of Tanzania's most iconic destinations, including Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa, and the Serengeti National Park, home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth, the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. We witness the struggles and triumphs of the local fishermen and farmers who make their living on the shores of the lake, as well as the ongoing conservation efforts to protect the endangered species that call the Serengeti their home.

Overall, Discoveries... Africa: Tanzania Collection is a stunning visual feast that offers a unique and intimate glimpse into the beauty, diversity, and complexity of one of Africa's most captivating countries. Through stunning cinematography, captivating interviews with local people, and expert commentary from leading experts in their fields, the series offers a comprehensive and engaging portrait of Tanzania that will leave viewers both informed and inspired.
