Ep 1. Pilot

Chloe is a New York City party girl with the morals of a pirate. She meets her match in her new roommates, June, who is an innocent, optimistic, young woman from the Midwest. June's life is turned upside down when she moves to New York and lands a job at a coffee shop only to find it has been shut down, forcing her to look for a new job. She eventually finds a job in accounting, but it is at a start-up company that goes under on her first day, leaving her unemployed again.

After a string of terrible roommates, June finally finds a beautiful apartment in Manhattan with Chloe. But there's a catch: Chloe is a con artist who scams her roommates into paying their share of rent and expenses. June quickly realizes that living with Chloe is going to be a challenge as she tries to navigate the city and her new job.

Chloe tries to convince June to loosen up and enjoy life, but June is hesitant. However, after a few drinks, June lets loose and ends up getting fired from her new job, leading her to question if she made the right choice in moving to New York City. Chloe offers her a solution: they create a "summer bucket list" filled with outrageous tasks and experiences they want to accomplish before the end of the season.

Along the way, the two roommates encounter a few obstacles in completing their list, including a stalker, needing to bribe a doorman, and ruining a celebrity wedding. However, they continue to push and encourage each other to complete their list. June starts to see a different side of Chloe and realizes that she isn't all bad, even though she can be selfish and manipulative.

The first episode of Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23 sets up the dynamic between June and Chloe, the primary characters of the show. It introduces the audience to their apartment building in New York City and the eccentric neighbors who reside there. Although Chloe is a con artist who uses her charm to manipulate those around her, the audience can't help but be drawn to her. Meanwhile, June is the opposite, an innocent and naive midwesterner trying to navigate the city. Over the season, we see these two unlikely roommates become closer as they continue to tackle their bucket list and get into even more mischief.
