Ep 3. Pop Goes the Ed

When the third episode of Ed, Edd n' Eddy's first season starts, the Eds seem to have hit a rough patch. They know they need money, but they are running out of ideas for scams.

While brainstorming, Edd proposes organizing a carnival to raise funds, which sounds like a brilliant idea. Ed loves the idea of having his own booth where he can saw people in half. However, Eddy is hesitant since they lack the necessary finances to make such an ambitious project happen. The episode then follows the Eds as they try to gather the means required to make their carnival dream a reality.

The three spend the episode engrossed in their preparations for the carnival, starting with a poster that Eddy drew and announcing it to the neighborhood in a loudspeaker. Meanwhile, throughout the show, the trio's neighbor, Jonny, and his best friend, Plank, are trying to show them how to have fun without any supplies or money. They tell the Eds that they are worriers, and they should take a break from their carnival preparations and just relax and have fun. The Eds are hesitant at first but eventually give in to Jonny's free-spirited ways and decide to join him on a picnic.

But, while the Eds are enjoying their day in the sun, the rabbits they've caught get loose and start attacking the other animals. The trio of Eds rushes back to the carnival and sees the damage they have caused. Their carnival dream seems to be over before it even began.

However, while repairing the damage, they figure out that the rabbits' huge appetite has caused them to poo out the money they had eaten. The Eds are over the moon with joy and immediately start re-building for their carnival.

The episode climaxes with the Eds opening their carnival, which is a massive success. The neighborhood kids love the bunny displays, plank-throwing lanes, and Ed's "saw a man in half" booth. The Eds finally get the attention they crave and at long last, they get to live the life of big shots in the neighborhood.

Overall, "Pop Goes the Ed" is a funny and entertaining episode of Ed, Edd n' Eddy. The narrative flows well, going back and forth between different characters - the Eds, Jonny, and Plank - and keeping the viewers hooked from start to finish.
