Ed, Edd n' Eddy is an animated television series that first aired in 1999. The show follows the misadventures of three young boys, each with a different personality and nickname. Ed is the lovable and dimwitted one, Edd goes by "Double D" and is the brains behind their schemes, and Eddy is the schemer and leader of the group.
Season 2 episode 7 is titled "Hands Across Ed." In this episode, Ed, Edd and Eddy have all run out of money and are desperately searching for a way to come up with more cash. They come up with the idea to hold a neighborhood car wash as a way to raise some funds. The group spends hours preparing and advertising for the event, hoping to draw in a large crowd.
Unfortunately for the trio, their car wash proves to be less successful than they had hoped. They spend a full day out in the sun, washing cars for only a few dollars. The boys are exhausted and feeling defeated, until they receive a visit from their neighbor Kevin, who offers to let them use his luxurious pool for the rest of the day. In return, Kevin demands that the boys wash his car and do some yard work for him.
After a refreshing swim in the pool, the boys get to work on Kevin's car. While working on it, they accidentally rip off the door handle. In order to avoid getting in trouble with Kevin, they decide to fix it themselves. They go to the junkyard to look for a replacement door handle but are quickly chased away by the junkyard owner, who accuses them of stealing.
The boys eventually stumble upon a mud-covered car that is the exact same make and model as Kevin's car. They pull it out of the mud and steal the door handle off of it. They successfully fix Kevin's car without him realizing what they had done.
As they are driving Kevin's car back to his house, they suddenly get pulled over by a police officer. The officer accuses them of stealing the car and they are arrested. The boys are thrown into jail, where they share a cell with the junkyard owner they had encountered earlier in the day. The junkyard owner reveals that the car they had taken the door handle from was actually his own car, which he had been working on for weeks.
The boys are eventually released from jail with a warning, but they are still in deep trouble with Kevin. They return to his house to apologize, but he refuses to forgive them and they end up getting sprayed with his hose as he angrily tells them to leave.
"Hands Across Ed" is a classic episode of Ed, Edd n' Eddy featuring the trio's trademark hijinks and schemes.
