Ed, Edd n' Eddy is an animated comedy television series that follows three adolescent boys named Ed, Edd (also known as Double D), and Eddy. They live in a suburban cul-de-sac and spend their days scheming to earn money or candy, usually involving scams that result in comical and disastrous outcomes.

Season 5 episode 11, Too Smart for His Own Ed, begins with Edd excitedly showing off his new encyclopedic knowledge to Ed and Eddy. His recent obsession with reading books has turned him into a know-it-all, much to the annoyance of his friends. Eddy, in particular, is tired of hearing Edd's constant lectures and has an idea to bring him down a peg.

Eddy decides to enlist the help of the local school genius, Jimmy, to outsmart Edd. Jimmy is hesitant at first, knowing how much Edd values his intelligence, but Eddy convinces him that it's just harmless fun and that Edd needs to learn to take a joke. Jimmy agrees and the two of them devise a plan to trick Edd and show him that he's not as clever as he thinks he is.

The plan involves a fake science competition that Edd is eager to enter, as it will prove his intelligence to the whole cul-de-sac. Jimmy pretends to be a visiting professor and is the judge of the competition. Edd's project is a contraption that is supposed to generate free energy, but Jimmy quickly exposes its flaws and makes Edd look like a fool in front of everyone. Edd is devastated and humiliated, and his friends try to console him, but he's too upset to listen.

As the day goes on, Edd becomes increasingly depressed and withdrawn. He begins to doubt his intellect and wonders if he's not as smart as he thought he was. Ed and Eddy, feeling guilty about what they did, decide to make it up to him and take him to the science museum to cheer him up. While there, Edd sees a display about famous scientists who failed multiple times before succeeding, and it gives him hope. He realizes that failure is just a part of the learning process and that he shouldn't let it defeat him.

The episode ends with Edd back to his old self, no longer lording his intelligence over his friends, but still eager to learn and improve. Ed and Eddy apologize for what they did and promise to never try and bring him down again, and Edd forgives them.

Overall, Too Smart for His Own Ed is a funny and heartwarming episode that explores the theme of intellectualism and how it can sometimes lead to arrogance. It's a great reminder that everyone has something to offer, and that we should always be kind and supportive of our friends, even when they're at their most annoying.
