Ep 21. Once in Love With Buffy

In the season one episode of Family Affair entitled "Once in Love With Buffy," the Davis family is preparing for an upcoming wedding. Buffy (Anissa Jones), the youngest member of the family, is excited about the wedding but also feels left out as she is too young to attend the ceremony and be a bridesmaid. During their date, they run into a group of rowdy young men causing trouble. Uncle Bill steps in to protect Gwendolyn and ends up getting into a physical altercation with one of the men. Gwendolyn is impressed with Uncle Bill's bravery and begins to fall for him even more.

Back at the Davis household, the family's pretend wedding for Buffy is in full swing. Jody serves as the minister, Cissy acts as the bride, and Buffy is the flower girl. The family goes through with the ceremony, but Buffy still feels left out as she knows it isn't a real wedding.

Uncle Bill returns home after his date with Gwendolyn and is surprised to find the Davis family's pretend wedding in progress. He joins in on the fun and even pretends to marry his love interest Gwendolyn. As the guests of the pretend weddings are leaving, Gwendolyn shows up and has an intimate moment with Uncle Bill.

The episode ends with Buffy feeling a little bit better about the situation as she realizes that everyone in her life loves her and wants to include her in everything they can. Uncle Bill's love life seems to be headed in a positive direction as he has found someone he can be vulnerable with.
