G.I. Joe Season 1 Episode 12 The Pyramid of Darkness (2): Rendezvous in the City of the Dead

The episode starts with the G.I. Joe team travelling through the desert towards the ancient city of Petra to stop Cobra's plot to activate the Pyramid of Darkness. Along the way, they discover that Cobra has a new weapon that is capable of cutting through solid rock, making their mission even more urgent.

As the Joes make their way through the city, they come across various booby traps set by Cobra. They narrowly avoid being trapped by falling boulders and make their way to the city's main temple. There, they find an ancient stone obelisk marked with a Cobra emblem that they suspect plays a key role in Cobra's plan.

Meanwhile, Cobra's troops have already arrived in the city and are setting up their equipment to activate the Pyramid of Darkness. The Cobra Commander orders Destro to oversee the operation, but Destro has his own ideas and secretly makes a deal with the Baroness to betray Cobra.

The Joes split up to cover more ground as they search for clues to stop Cobra. Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes encounter a group of Cobra soldiers and engage in a fierce battle. They manage to defeat the soldiers, but not before Scarlett is injured.

Meanwhile, Roadblock, Gung-Ho, and Shipwreck infiltrate an enemy stronghold and manage to steal a data disc containing information about Cobra's plan. However, as they try to escape, they are discovered by Cobra security and find themselves in a dangerous firefight.

Back at the temple, the remaining Joes discover that they need to activate a series of levers to prevent the Pyramid of Darkness from being activated. However, the levers are located in different parts of the city and they need to find a way to connect them all before time runs out.

As the Joes work to activate the levers, Destro double-crosses Cobra and activates the Pyramid of Darkness himself. The temple begins to shake violently and the Joes must work quickly to shut down the machine before it's too late.

In the final showdown, the Joes face off against Destro and the Baroness as they strive to stop the Pyramid of Darkness from reaching full power. The battle is intense, but in the end, the Joes are able to destroy the machine and save the day.

The episode ends with the Joes regrouping before heading off to their next mission, while Cobra Commander swears revenge against Destro for his betrayal.
