Ep 4. Rule #225: What Happens in Bakersfield Stays in Bakersfield

As the title implies, in Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce season 3 episode 4, "Rule #225: What Happens in Bakersfield Stays in Bakersfield," the girlfriends are going on a trip to Bakersfield, California. Abby, Delia, Jo, and Barbara head out on a girls weekend, looking for some fun, but they each have their own reasons for needing to escape.

Abby's son has been experiencing some anxiety and sleep issues since the divorce and she feels guilty for not being able to fix it. Delia is having issues balancing her work and personal life, especially since her boyfriend moved in with her. Jo is struggling with her ex-husband moving back to town and Barbara is dealing with her own health issues.

On their trip, the girls go to a winery, where Abby runs into an old friend. She's surprised to see him because they had a falling out when she was going through her divorce. He's since remarried and has a child, which Abby finds out is adopted. Despite some tension at first, they reconnect and Abby confides in him about her son's issues.

Meanwhile, Delia and Jo get caught up in the thrill of a bachelorette party they stumble upon at the winery. They enjoy some drinks and dancing, but things start to get messy when a male stripper shows up. Delia is hesitant to partake, but Jo convinces her to let loose and have some fun. After a wild night, the girls wake up with a hangover and some surprises.

Barbara's health issues cause her to take a step back and reflect on her own life. She starts to question her previous decisions and whether or not she's lived her life to the fullest. Abby tries to comfort her friend and reminds her that it's never too late to make changes and live the life she wants.

The episode ends with the girlfriends heading back home, each feeling a bit more refreshed and ready to tackle their problems. It's clear that their trip to Bakersfield was much needed and helped them each gain some perspective. As always, the girlfriends' bond is strengthened through their shared experiences and support for one another.
