Gotham Season 2 Episode 6 By Fire

Tabitha Galavan, aka Tigress, is training a new recruit in the art of the kill. She’s testing him to see if he has what it takes to be a part of her brother Theo’s plans for taking control of the city. Meanwhile, the investigation into Bridgit Pike’s arson-murder spree heats up as Gordon and Bullock learn from one of the victims that the perpetrator was a woman. The victim also provides them with a crucial piece of information that leads them to an illegal munitions factory that Bridgit’s gang, the Pike brothers, has been using as their base of operations.

At the factory, Gordon and Bullock find several hostages being used as slave labor by the Pikes. They also find Selina Kyle, who has been working with the gang in exchange for food and shelter. Selina agrees to help Gordon and Bullock track down Bridgit in exchange for their help in freeing the hostages and shutting down the factory. The plan goes awry, however, when Selina’s presence is discovered, and she and the detectives are forced to fight their way out of the factory.

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne begins to explore the secret office of his father that he uncovered at Wayne Enterprises. He discovers a hidden computer and begins hacking into it to learn more about his father’s work and connections. Alfred tries to dissuade Bruce from pursuing this path, warning him that he could be putting himself in danger. But Bruce is determined to learn the truth, even if it means breaking the law.

Back at the GCPD, Jim’s girlfriend Dr. Leslie Thompkins is offered a job at the medical examiner’s office. The offer comes with a catch, however, as the current medical examiner, Dr. Guerra, is being forced out to make way for Leslie. Guerra is not happy about this and confronts Leslie in the morgue, accusing her of sleeping her way to the top. The confrontation turns deadly, and Leslie is forced to defend herself against Guerra.

In the closing moments of the episode, the Pikes return to their hideout to find Bridgit waiting for them. She has learned the truth about her brother Theo’s real plans for the city and refuses to be a part of them any longer. Tigress tries to convince Bridgit to stay, but it’s too late. Bridgit has embraced her powers as Firefly and is ready to take on her brother and anyone who stands in her way.

Overall, "By Fire" is a fast-paced episode that moves the show’s storylines forward in meaningful ways. The conflict between Bruce and Alfred over Bruce’s investigation of his father’s work is compelling, as is the tension between Leslie and Guerra. The standoffs between the detectives and the Pikes at the factory are exciting and showcase the intense action that the show is known for. And the final scene, which sets up Bridgit’s future as Firefly, hints at even more thrilling developments to come.
