Five-O Chief Steve McGarrett tries to warn a scornful young socialite that she's a prospective victim of a jewel theft -- and draws only the response that he's a dumb cop. Wealthy Dilys Conover arrives in Hawaii for a vacation, and McGarrett guesses that she may have brought one of her well-known and prized possessions, an extremely valuable ruby. As McGarrett is warning her to be wary, Dilys is hobnobbing with another tourist whom she has just met, charming Harry Clive, a man who McGarrett has good reason to view with a jaundiced eye.
