In Highlander season 1 episode 6, titled "Bad Day in Building A," the focus is on Duncan MacLeod, a 400-year-old immortal. In this episode, MacLeod finds himself in the middle of a hostage situation in a high-rise building. The episode was directed by Jorge Montesi and written by David Tynan and David Abramowitz.
The episode begins with MacLeod visiting a friend, Charlie, who is the building's security guard. MacLeod attempts to convince Charlie to take a vacation and relax, but Charlie insists that he enjoys working by himself. As MacLeod is leaving, Charlie warns him of a strange occurrence in the building earlier that day, where someone had turned off the power in one of the floors for no apparent reason.
Later in the day, MacLeod is passing by the building when he sees two men breaking into it. He follows them inside and discovers that the men are part of a group of terrorists who have taken several people hostage in one of the floors. The group's leader, Grayson, demands a ransom of $5 million or he will start killing the hostages one by one.
MacLeod realizes that he can't just sit and wait for the situation to resolve itself. He decides to take matters into his own hands and creates a diversion to draw the terrorists away from the hostages. While the terrorists are distracted, MacLeod manages to free the hostages and take them to safety. However, one of the terrorists, Kurlow, discovers that the hostages are missing and sets off to look for them.
As MacLeod tries to protect the hostages, he also encounters another immortal, Grayson, who turns out to be the leader of the terrorists. It is revealed that Grayson has been around for centuries and is even older than MacLeod. Grayson's goal is to become the richest and most powerful man in the world, and he doesn't care who he has to kill to achieve it.
As the situation escalates, MacLeod and Grayson face off in an intense fight. However, their fight is interrupted when Kurlow finds them and tries to take MacLeod captive. MacLeod manages to overpower Kurlow, but in the process, he accidentally kills him. This allows Grayson to escape, and he takes one of the remaining hostages with him as a bargaining chip.
MacLeod tracks Grayson down to a nearby airport and confronts him once again. The two engage in another intense fight, and this time, MacLeod comes out on top. He manages to kill Grayson and free the hostage, thus ending the hostage situation.
Overall, "Bad Day in Building A" is an action-packed episode that depicts MacLeod as a skilled warrior, capable of taking on multiple opponents at once. The episode also explores the idea of immortality and how it affects the characters. Grayson, who is older than MacLeod, seems to be more power-hungry, while MacLeod has learned to value human life and protect those who need it. The episode showcases some impressive fight scenes and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
