The fight itself is brutal, with both fighters taking heavy hits. Slan tries every dirty trick in the book, including biting and eye-gouging, but Duncan keeps fighting back. Despite injuries, Duncan manages to get the upper hand and finally defeats Slan.

In the end, Duncan reflects on the needless violence of the battle and the tragic fate of his friend Joey. He solemnly reminds us that the immortal life is not just about fighting and surviving but about cherishing human connections and making the most of the time we have.
