Holmes and Holmes is a captivating Canadian television show that follows the entrepreneurial pursuits of builder extraordinaire, Mike Holmes, and his accomplished son, contractor, and designer, Mike Jr. The show takes viewers behind the scenes of the father-son duo's latest home renovation projects as they attempt to turn outdated houses into modern marvels. In season 3 episode 5, "No Bones About It," the Holmes team take on a unique challenge as they work on transforming a home for a client who is an accomplished chiropractor.

As the episode begins, the Holmes team is introduced to Dr. Jill, a chiropractor who has recently purchased a 1950s bungalow in East York, Ontario. She is looking for a complete renovation that encompasses an open concept, more natural light, and a backyard that is ideal for a yoga practice area. Dr. Jill mentions that she is looking for a home that is good for posture, something that quickly catches the attention of the Holmes team.

The first challenge of the day for the Holmes team is to determine what needs to be done with the outdated electrical system in the home. Mike Jr. discovers that the electrical system is a ticking time bomb and is in desperate need of a complete overhaul. Mike and his team then start working on replacing all the wiring, getting rid of the old fuse box, and making sure the size of the electrical panels is adequate.

Once the electrical system is in order, the team moves on to tackling the kitchen renovation. They have to complete a full demolition as there is nothing usable in the existing space. Mike Jr. realizes that they have a lot of creating to do with an open floor plan, and this is where his design expertise comes in handy. Mike and his team are also able to add much-needed storage space and a unique feature wall design.

While Mike and his team are working on the kitchen renovation, Mike Sr. takes up the task of fixing the squeaky floors throughout the home. Mike Sr. notices that the support beams in the attic are not properly installed, posing even more safety issues. They work on replacing the beams and the squeaks disappear. This job isn't done yet, however, as the Holmes team still has to deal with the basement where there are even more squeaky floors. Mike Sr. quickly identifies the issue and moves on to fixing it.

As the episode progresses, the Holmes team continues to work on different areas of the house, one of which is the bathroom. After clearing out the old fixtures from the bathroom, they are able to add new plumbing and update the space with modern fixtures. Dr. Jill has requested that the bathroom incorporates natural light, which is accomplished with a skylight and high windows that not only allow more light into the space but also provide a beautiful view of the outdoors.

Towards the end of the episode, Mike and his team work on creating a perfect space for Dr. Jill to relax in and practice her yoga. They add sliding doors that allow for easy access to the backyard and also provide a view of the outdoors. They build a custom wooden deck area that can be used for yoga practice or just relaxing with a book. With the renovation complete, Mike and Mike Jr. give the grand tour of the magnificent renovation job to Dr. Jill, who is overwhelmed by the result.

In summary, Holmes and Holmes' season 3 episode 5, "No Bones About It," features an exciting and unique renovation job for the Holmes team. The team must work on a chiropractor's home, incorporating natural light and perfecting the house's posture. The episode covers the challenges of upgrading an outdated electrical system, fixing squeaky floors, installing a new kitchen, adding more natural light, and creating the perfect yoga relaxation space.
