Hot Bench Season 2 Episode 208 Premature Eviction?!; Fender Bending the Truth?!
- May 11, 2016
In this episode of Hot Bench, titled "Premature Eviction?!; Fender Bending the Truth?!", Judge Acker presides over a case involving a tenant who claims to have been evicted prematurely from his apartment. The tenant insists that he never received proper notice from his landlord and was therefore not given the opportunity to remedy any issues with his lease agreement. However, the landlord denies these allegations and insists that the tenant was well aware of his lease agreement and failed to comply with its terms.
As the case unfolds, Judge Acker listens carefully to both sides of the argument and questions each party about the timeline of events leading up to the eviction. The tenant provides evidence to support his claim, including copies of emails and texts exchanged between himself and the landlord. However, the landlord challenges the authenticity of some of this evidence and argues that it cannot be relied upon to prove his case.
In the end, Judge Acker must decide whether or not the tenant was indeed evicted prematurely and whether or not he is entitled to any compensation as a result. She carefully weighs all of the evidence presented and makes a ruling that she believes is fair and just.
Meanwhile, Judges Tanya and Larry hear a case involving a minor car accident. The plaintiff claims that the defendant backed into his car in a parking lot and caused significant damage. However, the defendant insists that the plaintiff is exaggerating the extent of the damage and that his car was not even touching the plaintiff's car at the time of the incident.
As Judge Tanya questions both parties, she begins to suspect that the plaintiff may be embellishing the details of the accident in order to get more money out of the defendant. She challenges him on his version of events and asks him to explain certain inconsistencies in his story.
Ultimately, Judge Tanya makes a ruling based on the evidence presented and decides who is responsible for the damage to the plaintiff's car. She also determines the appropriate amount of compensation that the defendant should pay to the plaintiff for the damages caused.
Throughout both cases, the judges exhibit their trademark wit and intelligence, always striving to get to the heart of the matter and make the right decision for all parties involved. Whether dealing with complex legal disputes or minor fender-benders, the Hot Bench judges always bring their A-game.
