Hot Bench Season 3 Episode 95 All Rise for Judge Jerry!; Stolen Sports Memorabilia?!

  • December 22, 2016

Three judges are back to preside over "Hot Bench," a courtroom series from the mind of Judge Judy. Judge Patricia DiMango, Judge Tanya Acker, and Judge Michael Corriero listen to cases and weigh in on the verdicts. Their decision is final and cannot be appealed. In season 3 episode 95, titled "All Rise for Judge Jerry!; Stolen Sports Memorabilia?!" a rare sports collectibles dealer, Jai, takes a stand before Judges Dimango, Acker, and Corriero.

Jai has filed a lawsuit against a former client, Bobby, who allegedly stole Jai's prized Tom Brady football. The ball has a value of $250,000, and Jai believes he can prove that Bobby has it. Bobby countersued for defamation of character, claiming that when Jai came to confront him, Jai accused him of taking the ball and also used racial slurs. Bobby, who is African American, was offended by the alleged comments.

The plaintiff's lawyer presents photos of Bobby in a rare Tom Brady jersey at a football game, but cannot prove that Bobby has the collector's item football. Bobby and his lawyer argue that the accusations are baseless, and that Jai is attempting to ruin his reputation in the sports community. Bobby's lawyer also tells the judges that his client does not have the ball and that the accusations could damage Bobby's career as a sports agent.

Judge Corriero wants to know if there is any evidence that supports Jai's claims. Bobby's lawyer says that Jai's case is based purely on speculation. Judge Acker asks if there is any documentation that can prove who owns the ball. Jai says that he did not take pictures of the football, as it was locked in a safe, but he has provided a video of the safe room.

Judge DiMango points out that while Jai may not have definitive proof, he has reasonable suspicion that Bobby is somehow involved. The judges find Bobby guilty of defamation, but they are divided on whether he is responsible for the theft of the football. They decide to give Bobby and Jai a chance to settle the dispute outside of court.

In another case, the judges hear from two landlords, Alvin and Gail. They are suing their former tenant, Anna, for financially ruining their rental business. According to Alvin and Gail, Anna, who is a professional photographer, rented their home to use as a photography studio. The couple claims that Anna's photography business caused excessive damage to the property and decreased the value of their home by over $100,000.

Anna denies the allegations and says that she left the house in better condition than when she moved in. She claims that Alvin and Gail are attempting to take advantage of her because of her profession. The landlords argue that Anna's photography business left the property damaged, and they had to spend tens of thousands of dollars repairing the home.

Judge DiMango asks Alvin and Gail for proof of the damages, and they present pictures of the destroyed property. Judge Acker questions Anna about whether she had insurance, and Anna tells the judges that she did not purchase any.

Judge Corriero asks the landlords if they had a security deposit from Anna, and they say that Anna paid a one-month deposit. Judge Corriero says that this would not be enough to cover the damages, and it would have been wise to have a more substantial deposit. The judges rule in favor of the landlords, but they are divided on the amount of damages, and they order Anna to pay an amount thatboth parties have agreed upon.

In the end, the judges must weigh the evidence and decide which party should prevail. They aim to seek justice for all involved parties in a fair and impartial manner, and will do so in episode 95 of Hot Bench.
