Ep 16. Pony Up

Victoria (Wendie Malick) takes part in a charity horse race, but learns that Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) is riding the same horse, leading to a dispute between the friends. Meanwhile, Joy (Jane Leeves) and Elka (Betty White) try to find a way to make money for their failing house-flipping business. They come up with the idea to turn their house into a bed and breakfast for seniors and recruits a tough-love concierge (guest star Mary Tyler Moore) to ensure their guests abide by the rules. However, their new venture soon proves to be more challenging than they anticipated. Meanwhile, Melanie starts dating a younger man, but worries about the age difference. As tensions rise between Victoria and Melanie over the horse race, they must both come to terms with their competitive natures and learn to support each other in their endeavors. This episode features special guest appearances by Mary Tyler Moore and Jerry Van Dyke.
