Ep 3. Always Bet Black

Annalise and her team are back on the case in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 episode 3, entitled "Always Bet Black." The episode starts off with a flashback to ten years ago, when Annalise was working for a law firm and defending a wealthy man accused of killing his wife. The man is found not guilty, but Annalise believes he is guilty and feels guilty for helping him get away with it.

In present day, Annalise and her team are representing a woman named Jasmine, who is accused of killing her husband. Jasmine claims that she acted in self defense, but there are a lot of holes in her story. Annalise believes that Jasmine is innocent, but is having trouble finding evidence to support her claim.

Meanwhile, Wes is still obsessed with finding out what happened to his mother and confronts Annalise about it. She tells him that she doesn't know anything, but Wes is determined to find out the truth.

The case takes a surprising turn when Annalise discovers that the victim was involved in a high-stakes gambling ring and owed a lot of money to some dangerous people. Annalise convinces the judge to allow her to investigate the gambling ring in order to find evidence that could exonerate Jasmine.

As they dig deeper into the gambling ring, Annalise and her team uncover a web of deceit and corruption. They learn that the ring is controlled by a powerful man named Mr. Millstone, who will stop at nothing to protect his interests.

Annalise and her team go head-to-head with Mr. Millstone, putting themselves in danger in order to uncover the truth. In the end, they manage to find the evidence they need to win the case and clear Jasmine's name.

But the victory is bittersweet, as Annalise is left to grapple with the guilt she feels over helping a guilty man go free ten years ago. Meanwhile, Wes's obsession with his mother's death leads him down a dangerous path, and Annalise is left wondering if she can ever truly protect her students from the truth.
