Huff is an Emmy Award winning darkly surreal comedy that looks at sanity and insanity and the very fine line between the two. Dr. Craig "Huff" Huffstodt (Hank Azaria) is a happy and successful psychiatrist working in Los Angeles. But after one of his young patients kills himself while at his office, Huff has to deal with the professional, legal, and personal fallout of that event. As he suffers something of a midlife crisis following his patient's suicide Huff, also starts to have strange hallucinatory interludes. He must cope with all of this and re-evaluate his entire life while also dealing with his quirky family that includes a well-meaning but overly critical mother Izzy (Blythe Danner), loving but mercurial wife Beth (Paget Brewster), teenaged son Byrd (Anton Yelchin) and brother Teddy (Andy Comeau) who has mental illness problems of his own. Huff leaves to Tijuana in hopes of finding his brother Teddy, though he doesn't know much about where Teddy is except that he's near a pharmacy. Meanwhile, Teddy runs off after being threatened with arrest if he didn't pay for a piece of candy that he gave a child, so he gets his hair shaven off in order to try to avoid the police. When Huff finds Teddy, he realizes that he isn't going to be able to get Teddy back home without identification, so Huff swallows his pride and he asks Russel to forge a driver's license for Teddy and bring it down to Tijuana.
