In Living Color season 3 episode 17 titled "George Bush Meets Tommy Wu" is a satirical take on the then-current political climate of the United States during the George H.W. Bush presidential era. The episode began with a parody of the hit television series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" with Keenan Ivory Wayans playing the titular character. In this segment, Indy gets into a comical altercation with former First Lady Barbara Bush, who mistakes him for a hired hand.

Following this, we see a comical take on the popular infomercials of the era with the "All Purposes Sponges" ad. This segment features Kim Wayans as a housewife trying to clean a variety of surfaces with hilarious results. In another skit titled "Cine-Link", David Alan Grier played Marcus Garvey who was inventing the movie projector, however, his invention was taken by Thomas Edison (played by Jim Carrey) in a funny representation of the events.

The titular skit "George Bush Meets Tommy Wu" features Damon Wayans as a Chinese American man named Tommy Wu who is invited to meet with President George H.W. Bush (played by David Alan Grier) in the Oval Office. Tommy Wu is a successful businessman who has made a fortune importing cheap goods from China to the United States. However, when he meets with President Bush, he is shocked to discover that the President has mistaken him for a member of the Chinese government.

The skit features hilarious dialogue between the two as they struggle to communicate due to the language barrier and cultural differences. Despite their differences, the two eventually bond over their shared love of fast food and even break into a rap performance together. The skit is a commentary on the perception of Asian Americans in the United States at the time and the cultural misunderstandings that often arise between different groups.

Other notable skits from the episode include "The Family That Slays Together Stays Together", a spoof of the popular television series "The Addams Family" featuring the Wayans family as a dysfunctional, homicidal group of relatives. There is also "Homey Gee, The Homeboy Shopping Network," featuring Damon Wayans as Homey D. Clown hawking his wares, and Jim Carrey on set sneakily attempting to steal a cart full of items.

In Living Color season 3 episode 17 provides a comedic take on the political and social issues of the time, with skits that are still relevant and entertaining today. The show's use of satire and humor to highlight important issues sets it apart from other comedy shows of the era, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.
