She also reveals that she has been using the Root Head to gather dark energy in order to exact revenge on Kagome, whom she blames for her previous defeat.

A brutal battle ensues between Tsubaki's demons and the group, with both sides sustaining heavy losses. In the end, it is revealed that Naraku had engineered the entire ordeal in order to eliminate Tsubaki, whom he deemed to be a threat to his own plans. The group emerges victorious, but they are left shaken by the experience of confronting their deepest fears in battle.

As they continue on their journey, they vow to never give up their fight against Naraku, no matter how difficult the road may be. The episode ends on a hopeful note, with the group united in their determination to overcome any obstacle in their path.
