Ep 1. Gunmetal Calico Road

Koko Hekmatyar is a young woman who is known as one of the world's most powerful arms dealers. She travels the world selling arms to countries and organizations, making a hefty profit in the process. In episode 1 of season 1, titled "Gunmetal Calico Road," we are introduced to Koko and her team, which includes Lehm, an ex-SAS member, and Jonah, a child soldier from the Middle East who is now working with Koko.

The episode starts with Koko and her team in Africa to sell weapons to a militia group. Jonah is reluctant to work with Koko and her team, but he sticks around because he has nowhere else to go. After the incident, Koko and her team continue their journey through Africa, eventually making their way to a small village where they are supposed to meet their next buyers. In the village, they befriend a young girl named Chinatsu, who has lost her parents to the war. Jonah connects with Chinatsu, and it's clear that Koko's team is more than just soulless arms dealers.

As the episode comes to a close, Koko and her team meet with their buyers, a group of local rebels. The rebels are unhappy with the quality of the weapons that Koko's team is selling, and they become hostile. Koko remains calm, however, and manages to diffuse the situation before things escalate.

"Gunmetal Calico Road" sets the stage for what promises to be an intense and action-packed series. Koko is a fascinating character, and her interactions with Jonah and the other members of her team add a layer of depth to the show. The episode also touches on themes of war, violence, and the moral gray area of the arms trade. With its intriguing characters and tight storytelling, Jormungand is definitely a series to watch.
