As much as one tries to avoid it, moving away from someone you care about always brings pain. Kazuki's decision to study abroad is taking a toll on Mao, and with Chris' departure still fresh in her mind, Mao struggles to deal with her feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. Meanwhile, Kazuki is getting ready for his departure, struggling to reconcile the excitement of studying abroad with the pain of leaving behind his friends and loved ones.
As the day of Kazuki's departure draws near, Mao is having a hard time coping with the chaos in her life. She's facing multiple problems at once, from her pent-up feelings for Kazuki to dealing with the loss of her friendship with Chris. She tries hard to put up a brave front, telling Kazuki that she's happy for him and encouraging him to go ahead with his plans. However, it's clear that Mao is finding it hard to come to terms with the fact that Kazuki is leaving.
On the day of Kazuki's departure, Mao finally breaks down. She hides behind a pillar, watching as Kazuki is boarding the plane that will take him away from her. The tears flow freely as she remembers all the times they spent together, all the happy moments that are now nothing but memories. Mao is overwhelmed with emotion, and she realizes just how much Kazuki means to her.
As Mao is losing her grip on her emotions, her phone rings. It's Kouchi, and he's calling to check up on her. Mao pours out her heart to Kouchi, admitting that she's struggling to deal with everything that's happening. Kouchi listens patiently, offering words of comfort and support as Mao cries on the phone.
As the days pass, Mao gradually recovers. She starts spending more time with Kouchi, enjoying their conversations and exploring Tokyo together. Although she still misses Kazuki terribly, Mao is slowly coming to terms with the fact that he's moved on to a different chapter in his life. In the meantime, she's refocusing on her own life, rediscovering her passion for art and focusing on her schoolwork.
One day, Mao and Kouchi are walking by a river, discussing their plans for the summer vacation. Suddenly, Mao sees Kazuki jogging towards them. She's stunned, finding it hard to believe that he's back so soon. Kazuki explains that he failed his entrance exams and was forced to return home early.
Mao is conflicted. Part of her is thrilled to see Kazuki again, to be able to spend time with him and have him back in her life. But another part is worried. She knows that having Kazuki back in her life will only make things more complicated, that it will reopen old wounds and make her heart ache once again.
As the episode ends, Mao is left with the difficult task of deciding what to do next. She's torn between her feelings for Kazuki and her fear of getting hurt again, and she's not sure which way to turn. The future is uncertain, and Mao is left to wonder how things will turn out for her, for Kazuki, and for their friends.
