Ep 19. House Of Tutor

Mike Baxter is a man who's trying to stay relevant in the modern world and keep his family together. In this episode, "House of Tutor," Mike decides to hire a tutor for his 14-year-old daughter, Eve, after she struggles with geometry in school.

The tutor, named Anita, is a high school senior who impresses Mike with her intelligence and work ethic. However, Mike soon learns that Anita's success comes at a cost. She has pushed herself so hard to get into a top college that she has missed out on many experiences that a normal teenager would enjoy. In fact, she's never even had a boyfriend.

Mike feels sorry for Anita and wants to help her live a little. He encourages her to go out and have fun, which includes spending time with Ryan, his son-in-law who is recently back from military service. Ryan takes Anita under his wing and introduces her to some of his Marine buddies. Soon, Anita is doing things she never thought she would do, like playing video games and riding in a helicopter.

Meanwhile, Mike's wife, Vanessa, is trying to deal with the stress of running her own business. She gets a call from a new client who is demanding and difficult to work with. Vanessa is initially hesitant to take on the project but decides to go for it when she learns how much money is at stake. As the project progresses, however, it becomes clear that Vanessa's client is impossible to please. She has a meltdown and shares her frustrations with Mike, who helps her put things in perspective.

Back at the house, Mike's eldest daughter, Kristin, is trying to juggle her new job as a restaurant manager with being a new mother. She has a lot on her plate and is feeling overwhelmed. When she tells Mike that she needs someone to watch her baby while she's at work, he volunteers to do it himself. Kristin is hesitant at first, but Mike proves to be a surprisingly capable babysitter.

As the episode progresses, the family members all come together in unexpected ways. They support each other through their struggles and help one another learn important life lessons. With its heartwarming themes and relatable characters, "House of Tutor" is a standout episode of Last Man Standing that showcases the best of what the series has to offer.
