In season 10 episode 13 of Love It or List It, Too titled "Beloved Home Decisions," homeowners are faced with a tough decision. John and Renee have lived in their home for 10 years and have raised their children there. However, their family has outgrown the space and they need to make a decision whether to love their home or list it.
Designer Jillian Harris is tasked with renovating and redesigning the family's current home to maximize the use of space and update the overall design. Meanwhile, realtor Todd Talbot searches for new homes that meet the family's needs and desires.
Jillian meets with the family to discuss their renovation wants and needs. She suggests removing the walls between the kitchen, living, and dining rooms to create an open concept living space that is perfect for entertaining. Additionally, she suggests adding a third bathroom and creating a functional mudroom with ample storage to help keep clutter out of the main living areas.
Meanwhile, Todd shows the family several homes that meet their criteria, including a spacious modern house with a large backyard and a traditional home that offers plenty of charm and character. However, despite being impressed with some of the prospective homes, John and Renee confess to feeling emotionally attached to their current house.
With time running out and the renovations nearing completion, John and Renee are forced to make a difficult decision. In a dramatic reveal, Jillian unveils the final renovation, showcasing an open concept living space that seamlessly blends the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The new design includes ample storage space, a custom mudroom, and a stunning new bathroom.
Ultimately, John and Renee must decide whether they love their newly renovated home or if they're ready to list it and start fresh. Will they decide to stay in the home they have grown emotionally attached to or will they take the leap and start fresh in a new property?
