S.H.I.E.L.D.'s third season continues to up the ante with the pulse-pounding episode "Absolution." In this installment, the team continues to tangle with Hydra, but their latest foe is a particularly powerful one: Hive. As the team races against time to stop him, they must also confront the fact that one of their own -- Daisy -- has been transformed into an Inhuman after being exposed to the Terrigen mist.
The episode opens with Daisy, now fully decked out in her new Inhuman powers, continuing to spread Hive's influence. As she recruits more and more Inhumans to his cause, S.H.I.E.L.D. races to catch up to her. Coulson, May, and the rest of the team are determined to save Daisy, but time is quickly running out.
Meanwhile, Fitz and Simmons are hard at work trying to unravel the mystery of the ancient Kree artifact that Hive has been seeking. As they continue to puzzle out its secrets, they learn that it may hold the key to stopping Hive once and for all. But can they figure out how to use it before it's too late?
As the episode progresses, tensions mount and the stakes get higher. S.H.I.E.L.D. puts all of its resources into catching up to Hive, but he proves to be a formidable foe. With each passing moment, more Inhumans are being transformed into mindless drones under his control. And to make matters worse, Daisy's loyalty to him seems unshakeable.
Against this backdrop, "Absolution" delivers some powerful character moments. Daisy's struggle with her newfound powers is particularly poignant, as she grapples with the destruction she has caused and the loss of her former identity. Meanwhile, Coulson continues to show his leadership skills as he rallies the team in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. And Fitz and Simmons' romance continues to blossom, even as they face incredible danger.
Overall, "Absolution" is a thrilling and emotional episode that sets the stage for the season finale. As the team hurtles towards a final showdown with Hive, the viewer is left wondering who will come out on top and at what cost.
