However, McHale and his crew are less than enthusiastic about the task as they have other plans of their own.

Meanwhile, Captain Binghamton receives a secret mission from his superior to intercept a Japanese spy submarine that is trying to make its way to the island. He informs McHale of his mission and forces him to assist, threatening him with disciplinary action if he doesn't comply. McHale accepts the mission reluctantly and begins to plan how to accomplish it.

After learning of their captain's mission, McHale and his crew make a plan to sabotage the captain's efforts to impress the visiting admiral in hopes of helping Captain Binghamton complete his secret mission. They set about causing various mishaps and creating distractions that will prevent the base from being presentable for the admiral's visit.

The captain is furious with McHale and his crew and is convinced that they are intentionally sabotaging his efforts. However, he is unaware of their plan to help him with his secret mission and continues to focus on impressing the visiting admiral.

As the admiral's visit approaches, tensions rise as McHale and his crew continue their efforts to interfere with the base preparations. Captain Binghamton becomes increasingly frustrated and even more determined to succeed in his efforts to impress the admiral.
