He orders them back to the base immediately and threatens to have them court-martialed.

Despite Binghamton's threats, McHale and the boys refuse to leave the hotel. They are determined to enjoy their R&R, even if it means getting into trouble with their commanding officer. But when a Japanese submarine is spotted off the coast, McHale and his crew must put their troubles aside and do what they do best - defend their country.
