Pete and Stephan then visit the iconic widow’s hole oyster farm in Greenport to learn about the highly prized oysters that are sustainably farmed on 6 acres of Peconic Bay. With the help of owner Mike Osinski, they collect some freshly harvested oysters to include in their next food adventure.
The next stop is Sang Lee Farms, where the team meet Karen Lee and her daughter Katie to learn about this renowned organic farm that supplies produce to some of the best restaurants in the area. They get a taste of the seasonal produce grown on the farm, including fennel, carrots, and Asian greens, which Karen turns into a delicious salad with the addition of feta and ginger dressing.
They later travel to an oyster shack on the beach to cook up some of the delicious freshly harvested oysters, paired with wine from local vineyards. Finally, the team heads to chef Keith Luce’s restaurant in Jamesport, where he prepares a mouth-watering dinner featuring local duck breast and pork loin, accompanied by a variety of seasonal vegetables, and topped off with a dessert of strawberries and ice cream.
