In the fifth episode of Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking season 3, viewers are taken on a culinary journey through Miami. In this particular episode, chefs David and Michelle Bernstein are the hosts as they explore the flavors of Biscayne Bay.

The episode begins with the Bernsteins meeting up with Chef Michael Schwartz of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. Together, the group heads out on a fishing excursion to catch their dinner. With the help of local fisherman, they catch a variety of fish such as mackerel, snapper, and grouper. They also harvest fresh sea urchin from the ocean floor. As they enjoy the beautiful scenery of Biscayne Bay, the chefs discuss their plans for the meal they will be preparing later that day.

After returning to land with their fresh catch, the group heads over to Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink where Chef de Cuisine Tim Piazza is anxiously awaiting their arrival. Chef Tim takes the lead in preparing the meal, while the others lend a helping hand. For an appetizer, they prepare a ceviche made from the freshly caught fish, along with a dish of mussels and clams. The main course consists of grilled fish accompanied by a salad made with locally sourced ingredients. And for dessert, a classic Cuban flan.

Throughout the episode, viewers also get a glimpse into the thriving food culture of Miami. The Bernsteins visit various local restaurants and markets, highlighting some of the unique flavors found in the area. They also attend a Cuban pig roast, which is a traditional event in Miami that involves slow roasting a whole pig over an open flame.

One of the standout moments of the episode is when the chefs take a visit to a bee farm, where they learn about the process of honey-making and even get to taste the various types of honey on offer. The beeswax and honey are used later in the episode for some of the dishes prepared by the chefs.

Overall, the Miami 2 - Biscayne Bay episode takes viewers on a delicious journey through the diverse flavors of Miami. From the ocean to the farm, and everywhere in between, this episode highlights the unique culinary culture of this vibrant city.
