Episode 8 of season 7 of A Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking takes viewers on a culinary journey through Basque Country, a region located in the north of Spain and the south of France. The episode features the unique cuisine of the Basque people, who have a long-standing tradition of using fresh ingredients and local flavors in their dishes.

The host of the show, Pete Evans, starts off by visiting a local market, where he meets with a fishmonger who shows him some of the fresh seafood available in the region. He then heads to a local restaurant to meet with chef Andoni Aduriz, who is known for his innovative take on Basque cuisine. Back in the kitchen, Aduriz prepares a traditional Basque dish called marmitako, a hearty fish stew made with potatoes, peppers, and tuna. He also makes a dish of poached eggs with mushrooms and black truffle, as well as a dessert of cream cheese with strawberry puree and balsamic vinegar.

Next, Pete visits a cider house, where he learns about the Basque tradition of making cider and enjoys a meal of grilled steak and chorizo, served with plenty of cider to wash it down.

Later in the episode, Pete travels to San Sebastian, a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches and world-renowned restaurants. He visits Michelin-starred chef Elena Arzak, who shows him some of the techniques and ingredients that make Basque cuisine so unique. She prepares a dish of oysters with a seaweed foam and an egg yolk emulsion, as well as a dessert of white chocolate and potato mousse with a passionfruit coulis.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Basque Country, as well as the passion and creativity of the chefs who call it home. With gorgeous views of the Spanish and French countryside and mouth-watering dishes at every turn, this episode of A Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking is sure to leave viewers hungry for more.
