In the second episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding's first season, titled "No Place Like Home," viewers are taken on a journey through the lives of two different families as they navigate the complexities of planning and executing their respective weddings.

The first family introduced is that of 18-year-old Margaret, who is set to marry her longtime boyfriend, Peter. Margaret's family is part of the Irish traveler community and values tradition and ceremony above all else. As such, Margaret's wedding is to be a lavish affair, complete with a custom-made dress and a horse and carriage ride. However, tensions arise when it becomes clear that Margaret's older sister, Mary, is unhappy with the way that their mother is dictating the wedding plans.

Meanwhile, viewers are also introduced to the family of 24-year-old Romany gypsy, Yandina. Unlike Margaret's family, Yandina's family place less emphasis on tradition and more on individuality. Yandina is set to marry her fiancé, Barry, but the wedding planning has been put on hold due to the fact that the couple is having a difficult time finding a suitable location for their reception. This is due to the fact that many venues refuse to accommodate gypsy weddings, citing rowdy behavior and excessive drinking as reasons.

As Margaret's wedding draws closer, tensions within her family continue to mount. Mary expresses her dissatisfaction with the way that her mother is handling the wedding planning, while Margaret struggles with the idea of leaving her family behind to start a life with Peter. Despite these challenges, Margaret's dream of a fairytale wedding becomes a reality, complete with a beautiful dress, ornate decorations, and all of her closest friends and family in attendance.

Meanwhile, Yandina and Barry are still struggling to find a location for their reception. Eventually, they settle on a nearby field, which they decorate with flowers, balloons, and handmade signs. Although it may not be the grandiose affair that Margaret's wedding was, Yandina and Barry's reception is a true reflection of their individuality and spirit.

"No Place Like Home" highlights the importance of family and tradition within these two distinct communities. While both families face their own unique challenges in planning their respective weddings, they ultimately come together to celebrate the love and union of two individuals.
