In the Pawn Stars season 8 episode 16, titled "Chum-parazzi", the usual cast of characters return to the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas to assess and purchase unique items from hopeful sellers. The team, which consists of patriarch Richard "Old Man" Harrison, his son Rick, grandson Corey, and Corey's childhood friend Austin "Chumlee" Russell, are on their toes as they attempt to negotiate with sellers who bring in interesting artifacts ranging from historic to bizarre.
The episode begins with Corey checking out a rare 1940s baseball game slot machine that he hopes to add to his collection. Meanwhile, Rick is busy weighing the pros and cons of purchasing a luxury watch that has belonged to Steve McQueen. The seller's request for an exorbitant price leaves Rick unsure of whether he should make the deal or not.
As the day progresses, the Pawn Stars team welcomes a new customer who wants to sell her collection of autographed Hollywood memorabilia. Chumlee is particularly excited about the collection since it includes a signed poster of his favorite movie. He soon discovers that he knows the owner of a few of the autographs in the collection and begins to play the role of paparazzi, taking pictures of himself with the items. Hence the title "Chum-parazzi".
The crew is also faced with a challenge when a seller comes in hoping to offload a 1961 Fender Stratocaster guitar that he claims belonged to Jimi Hendrix. The credentials seem legitimate, but Rick is cautious and asks a few experts in the field to verify the authenticity of the guitar.
In another segment, the Pawn Stars team welcomes a seller who offers a rare copy of Playboy magazine featuring Marilyn Monroe on its cover. The cover and the inside pages are in great condition, which increases its value. However, Rick makes an offer that the seller finds lower than he expected.
Finally, the team is visited by someone who wants to sell a piece of art that was created for a beloved children's classic. The art is in black and white and consists of various characters from the book. Rick is impressed with the art and spends some time trying to authenticate it.
"Chum-parazzi" provides audiences with a glimpse into the art of negotiation, with the Pawn Stars team working hard to make deals and buy unique items from sellers hoping to make a profit. Fans of the show will love the usual antics from Chumlee, who takes on the role of a celebrity stalker in his attempt to get up close and personal with the autographs in the Hollywood collection. It's a thrilling episode that keeps viewers entertained with its humor and high stakes bargaining.
