In season 8 episode 17 of Pawn Stars entitled "The Chum-Sake," viewers follow the daily operations of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. The show follows the Harrison family, including patriarch Richard "Old Man" Harrison, son Rick Harrison, grandson Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, and Corey's childhood friend Austin "Chumlee" Russell, as they appraise and negotiate the sale of various items brought into their shop.

In this episode, the team is presented with a diverse array of items. First, a man comes in with a rare Korean sword, known as a geom. The sword was used during the Joseon Dynasty and is intricately decorated with gold, silver, and precious gems. Rick is impressed with the condition of the sword and asks an expert to come in and appraise it. The expert determines that the sword is worth a large sum of money and Rick is willing to make a substantial offer. However, the seller is hesitant to sell and wants to hold onto the sword for sentimental reasons.

Next, a customer brings in a vintage Coca-Cola vending machine from the 1950s. The machine has been in the family for years and the customer is curious about its value. Rick appraises the machine and determines that it is in good condition, but unfortunately it is not a rare model. As a result, Rick is only able to offer a modest amount for the item.

In another segment of the show, a woman comes in with a rare bottle of vintage sake, called Chum-Sake. The bottle was purchased in Japan during the 1950s by the woman's late husband, who was stationed there during his military service. The woman has held onto it as a cherished memory of her husband, but financial difficulties have forced her to consider selling it. Rick calls in an expert in Japanese bottles to appraise the Chum-Sake. The expert is amazed by the rarity of the bottle and confirms that it is genuine. Rick is elated to get his hands on such an impressive item and makes a generous offer. The woman is thrilled to see her husband's legacy preserved in such a unique way and accepts the offer.

Finally, a regular customer of the pawn shop brings in a 19th century can opener. The customer is unaware of the can opener's historical significance and is surprised to learn that it was once considered a technological breakthrough. Rick is fascinated by the item and calls in an expert to verify its authenticity. The expert confirms that it was patented in the late 1800s and is a rare example of early can-opening technology. Despite its rarity, Rick is only able to offer a modest sum due to the limited demand for such an item.

Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to the typical back and forth negotiations that take place at the pawn shop. They witness the expertise of the appraisers, the fulfillment of cherished memories, and the satisfaction of both customers and pawn shop team members. With its eclectic mix of items and engaging cast of characters, "The Chum-Sake" is an entertaining and informative episode of Pawn Stars.
