In Season 8 Episode 27 of Pawn Stars, named "Say It, Don't Spray It," the staff at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are in for another busy day evaluating and hopefully purchasing unique and valuable items from their customers.
First up is a customer bringing in a rare Civil War sword that is said to have been owned by none other than General George Armstrong Custer himself. The sword's hilt is adorned with intricate engraving, and its blade is still razor-sharp. Rick and Chumlee are both intrigued by the item and decide to bring in an expert to authenticate its history and value. They reach out to Mark Hall-Patton, their go-to historian and expert in all things historical. Mark gives his expert opinion on the sword, and he is able to identify specific markings that point to it being authentic. Despite being a gorgeous piece, the shop owners must now determine what they are willing to pay for an item with such historical significance.
Next, a man comes into the shop trying to sell a signed photograph of Babe Ruth. Rick is immediately suspicious, as Babe Ruth's signature is one of the most commonly forged in sports memorabilia. To combat this issue, Rick brings in an expert to take a closer look at the photo's signature. The expert examines the photograph and signature thoroughly, determining whether it is authentic or a fake. Their verdict leave Rick with a difficult decision: does he take a chance on purchasing a potentially authentic but very costly photograph?
Later on, a customer enters the shop carrying an old bugle that he claims was used during World War I. According to the customer, the bugle had been handed down through his family for generations. He asks the Pawn Stars staff to verify the bugle's historical accuracy and determine its value. Much like with the Civil War Sword, the Pawn Stars team reach out to an expert to authenticate the item. This time, they contact an expert in military memorabilia who investigates the bugle thoroughly. The expert delivers an expert opinion on the bugle, and the Pawn Stars staff must now determine whether or not it is worth enough money to make a purchase worthwhile.
Finally, Rick's son Corey comes into the shop with his friends, who are hosting a "spit take" comedy competition nearby. One of the friends brags that they can do the best spit take, to which Rick counters "Say It, Don't Spray It." This light-hearted exchange leads to the core group testing their comedy skills and seeing who can make the others laugh the most. Meanwhile, items continue to come in, and the shop remains busy.
Overall, Season 8 Episode 27 of Pawn Stars is a great mix of fascinating historical artifacts, exciting sports memorabilia, and fun character interactions that keeps fans coming back for more episodes of this long-running reality TV series.
