Ep 3. First Date

Balki and Larry are back in action in the third episode of Perfect Strangers which is titled First Date. If you've watched the first two episodes of this sitcom, you'd know that these two characters are polar opposites who share an apartment and embark on some hilarious quests together.

This episode begins with Balki receiving a letter from his hometown that invites him to a wedding. As he reads the letter, he reveals that his sister's wedding is being held in just a few days and he has not been able to find a date to take her to the wedding. Larry, being the helpful person that he is, offers to take Balki on his first date so that he can get some practice before he meets his sister's bridesmaid.

Larry, however, is not the perfect date. In fact, he's quite far from it. He spends the entire day attempting to teach Balki key dating tricks like how to open a door for a woman or how to compliment her appearance. Initially, Balki is thrilled to be learning from Larry, but as the day goes on, Balki realizes that he's picked up more bad habits than good ones.

Things get really interesting when Balki and Larry run into two women at a restaurant during their date. As it turns out, Larry had gone on a date with one of the women in the past and had failed miserably. Larry, of course, is mortified that he's run into this woman and fumbles his attempts to impress her. In the end, Balki saves the day by charming the woman and impressing her with his eloquence and kindness.

As the episode progresses, Balki's nerves about his upcoming date with his sister's bridesmaid start to increase. Despite Larry's best efforts to help him prepare, he's convinced that he'll mess everything up.

As you might expect by now, the date doesn't go smoothly. Between Balki's clumsy attempts at impressing his date and Larry's disastrous advice, the two men make a real mess of things. But even though they make plenty of mistakes, they manage to have a great time and both walk away having gained some valuable dating experience.

Overall, First Date is a fun episode that is definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of Perfect Strangers. It's particularly entertaining to see Balki and Larry stumbling their way through the dating world, and the episode showcases the great comedic chemistry between the show's two leads. Additionally, it offers some lessons that everyone can benefit from when it comes to dating, like the importance of being yourself and not trying too hard to impress someone else.
