Ep 1. Pilot

In the first episode of the series Persons Unknown, titled 'Pilot', seven strangers from different walks of life awaken in a deserted town with no recollection of how they got there or why they are there. They search the town for answers, but they find the place to be eerily deserted, with no signs of life or civilization. The streets are empty, the stores are all closed, and there's no one around to help them.

The seven strangers include a doctor named Mark (played by Gerald Kyd), a single mother with her son named Janet (played by Daisy Betts and Chandler Canterbury), a black-ops soldier named Joe (played by Jason Wiles), a bank teller named Moira (played by Tina Holmes), a convenience store clerk named Charlie (played by Alan Ruck), a small-town mechanic named Bill (played by Sean O'Bryan), and a bright young woman named Tori (played by Kate Lang Johnson). They are all puzzled, scared, and suspicious of each other.

As they investigate the town, they realize that they are not alone. They come across a hotel where they find a phone and a note that says "There is a way out, but only one person can leave each night." They also stumble upon a newspaper that's been published, but it reports events that haven't occurred yet. They find cameras and microphones everywhere, as if someone is watching their every move. They soon realize that something sinister is going on and that they are all pawns in someone else's game.

The questions start popping up in their head. Why were they chosen? Who brought them here? What are they being filmed for? As they struggle to overcome their differences, they begin to realize that they may be trapped in this town forever, or until someone wins the game. The group debates on whether to work together or fight against each other for the chance to escape the town.

As they navigate through this mystery, they are introduced to an enigmatic figure who calls himself the "Director". He communicates with them through the phone in the hotel room, and he gives them tasks to accomplish. He also reveals that their families are being held as hostages to ensure their compliance. The Director threatens to harm their loved ones if they don't follow his instructions, but he also promises to reunite them if they complete the obstacles presented to them. The group is initially hesitant to follow the Director's orders, but they realize they have no other choice if they want to escape.

As the episode progresses, they encounter an old woman who warns them of the dangers that lie ahead. She is the only person they have encountered in the town who has some knowledge of what's going on. She tells them that they are all connected somehow and that they must find out the truth, or they will never escape.

The episode ends with the group discovering a room behind a locked door. Inside, they find a map of the town and a list of their names with numbers next to them. They are left to ponder the meaning of it all.

Persons Unknown season 1 episode 1 sets up a compelling premise with plenty of mystery and intrigue. As the seven strangers search for answers, they begin to uncover the unsettling truth about their captivity and the sinister forces behind it. With each passing moment, they become more desperate to escape and return to their normal lives. The series combines drama, mystery, and suspense to keep viewers engaged and eager for more.
