Ep 41. The Right Hero for the Right Job!

Ash and his friends are still trying to reach the Kalos League when they stumble upon a group of construction workers who are in trouble with a group of wild Carbink. The workers are upset because they can't get to work building a new dam due to the wild Pokemon blocking the entrance to the construction site.

After hearing their plight, Ash and his friends decide to help out. However, their initial attempts to clear the way for the workers fail, and it quickly becomes apparent that they need the right Pokemon for the job. Ash sends out his Hawlucha, but it quickly gets overwhelmed by the Carbink's sheer number.

At this point, Clemont suggests that they try to catch one of the Carbink in order to figure out what's causing them to behave so aggressively. Ash agrees to the idea and sends out his Froakie to battle a particularly strong Carbink. After a fierce battle, Froakie is able to weaken the Carbink enough so that Ash can catch it with a Pokeball.

Once they have captured the Carbink, Ash and his friends are able to get to the bottom of the problem. It turns out that the Carbink were only acting aggressively because they were trying to defend their home. The construction site was being built on top of a sacred Carbink shrine, and the workers had no idea.

Ash and his friends convince the workers to relocate the construction site, and with the help of their now-friendly Carbink, they clear the way for the workers to get started on the new dam. In the end, Ash learns an important lesson about using the right Pokemon for the right job and respecting the environment.
