- February 22, 2016
Jet, Sydney, and Sean are eager to experience the thrill of spinning around and around on a playground merry-go-round. But when they try to keep the fun going, they quickly realize that staying in motion isn't as easy as it seems. With a little help from the Neighborhood's resident astrophysicist Dr. Rafferty and his trusty computer, the kids learn about the physics behind circular motion and just how important it is to keep pushing forward in order to stay in orbit. As they zoom through space with an alien friend named Mindy, the group gets an up-close look at the Earth's rotation and learns how to keep their own movements steady no matter how dizzying they may become.
Meanwhile, Jet's mom and dad are getting ready for a rare and exciting astronomical event - a total eclipse of the Sun! With the help of Dr. Rafferty's telescope, they plan to watch as the Moon passes in front of the Sun and creates a stunning ring of fire in the sky. But when the eclipse throws off all the power in the neighborhood, Jet and his friends must race against time to get the lights back on and ensure that his parents don't miss the spectacular show. With teamwork, determination, and a little bit of science, the gang manages to save the day and witness the incredible celestial display together.
In this exciting episode of Ready Jet Go!, viewers will learn about the fascinating science behind circular motion and spinning objects. From merry-go-rounds to planets and moons in orbit, the importance of centripetal force and constant motion is explored in fun and accessible ways.
