Ep 17. Why We Fight

In Revolution season 2 episode 17 titled "Why We Fight," the show picks up where the last episode left off: with Miles returning to camp, where the rest of the survivors have been living since they fled from Willoughby. It becomes clear that things have taken a turn for the worse in Miles' absence- the group is running low on food and other supplies, and several members have left to scavenge for resources.

Miles quickly gets to work trying to figure out how they can turn things around. When Rachel suggests that they try to take over a nearby Patriot ammunition depot, Miles is initially hesitant- he doesn't want anyone to get hurt. However, Rachel argues that they don't have any other choice, and Miles eventually agrees to the plan.

As they prepare for their mission, Miles and Rachel have a heart-to-heart conversation about their past. They talk about the mistakes they've made and the people they've lost, and Miles admits that he still feels guilty about abandoning Charlie and his family all those years ago. Rachel assures him that he did what he had to do to survive and that he shouldn't blame himself for the past.

The mission to take over the Patriot ammunition depot is successful, but things quickly take a turn for the worse when they discover that the Patriots have been keeping a group of prisoners there. One of the prisoners is a woman named Marion, who used to be a nurse. She tells the group that the Patriots have been conducting experiments on her, trying to develop a vaccine for the nanites. Marion is frail and clearly traumatized by her ordeal, but she agrees to help the group if they promise to get her to safety.

While they're escaping from the depot, the group is ambushed by a group of Patriots led by Captain Neville. Miles and Neville have a tense confrontation, and Miles is nearly killed. However, he's saved by the unexpected arrival of one of the survivors who left the camp earlier- a man named John who had previously been a Patriot soldier. John turns out to be an invaluable asset to the group, helping them to escape and providing them with important intel about the Patriots' movements.

Back at camp, Miles and Rachel reflect on the success of their mission and their newfound ally in John. They also discuss the mystery of the nanites- who created them and what their true purpose is. Rachel reminds Miles that they can't lose sight of what's important: fighting for their survival and for a better future. As the episode comes to a close, the survivors are shown working together to rebuild their community and prepare for the battles to come.
