Back Then is the third episode of School-Live! (English Subtitled) season 1. The episode begins with Yuki daydreaming about a time before the outbreak occurred. She imagines the school as it once was, full of life and bustling with activity. Her cheerful disposition is infectious, and the other members of the club can't help but smile and indulge her fantasy.
However, as soon as Yuki snaps out of her reverie, the reality of their situation sinks back in. The girls must continue to scavenge for supplies and fortify the school's perimeter. Yuuri decides to lead a group out to gather materials, leaving Yuki, Kurumi, and Miki behind to keep watch over the school. Despite her delusions, Yuki proves to be an asset to the group, using her optimism and quick thinking to keep everyone's spirits up.
Meanwhile, Miki discovers a flashlight in the school's music room and uses it to explore the darkened hallways. As she wanders deeper into the building, she becomes increasingly uneasy, sensing that something is off. Her suspicions are confirmed when she stumbles upon a grisly scene: one of the infected students, trapped and suffering in a locked classroom.
While Miki tries to figure out what to do, Kurumi has an encounter of her own with the infected. As night falls, she and Yuki take turns patrolling the perimeter, armed with a shovel and a flashlight. When Kurumi suddenly disappears, Yuki begins to panic. But her fears are assuaged when Kurumi reappears, nearly unscathed. She explains that she was forced to take out a group of the infected, but her training with the shovel gave her an edge.
As the episode draws to a close, the girls continue to navigate their post-apocalyptic world, struggling to survive against all odds. No matter what challenges they face, however, they remain bound together by the unbreakable bond of their friendship and their shared determination to keep living, no matter what.
