Balsa and Chagum have finally arrived in the Yogo capital, with the intention of returning Chagum to his rightful place as the Mikado's second son. Though they try to remain unnoticed, it becomes clear that they have been recognized - and as word gets out about who Chagum really is, they both find themselves in peril.

As they make their way through the city, Balsa and Chagum come across the Summer Solstice Festival, a joyous occasion that marks the beginning of the season of abundance. The streets are filled with stalls selling food and goods, and everyone is in high spirits. However, as they stop to watch a performance by a troupe of street performers, Balsa catches sight of a group of men who seem to be watching them. She warns Chagum to be careful, but he is caught up in the energy of the festival and is reluctant to leave.

As they continue through the city, the danger increases - they are pursued by men on horseback, and Balsa is forced to fight to protect Chagum. However, they manage to evade their pursuers and find themselves in a dark alleyway. Suddenly, they are approached by a group of street urchins, who offer to help them hide from their pursuers. The leader of the group, a young girl named Touya, takes them to a safehouse where they can rest.

Inside the safehouse, Balsa and Chagum meet Touya's comrades, a group of children who live on the streets of the city. They are initially wary of Balsa and Chagum, but eventually warm up to them. As they spend time with the children, Balsa and Chagum realize how tough life on the streets can be - the children are constantly hungry and in danger. Nevertheless, they also see how resilient and resourceful the children are, and are impressed by their fortitude.

Balsa and Chagum eventually learn a crucial piece of information - there is a plot to assassinate the second prince at the Summer Solstice Festival, taking advantage of the large crowds that are sure to be present. Balsa realizes that they must stop the assassination attempt, and decides to take action. She gathers the street children and comes up with a plan to stop the assassins.

The night of the festival arrives, and Balsa and the children put their plan into action. The festival is in full swing, with music and dancing filling the air. However, Balsa knows that danger is lurking nearby. Suddenly, they spot a group of men approaching - the assassins. Balsa and the children spring into action, attacking the assassins and preventing them from getting close to the prince.

Despite the danger, the children manage to hold their own, using their street smarts and wits to overcome the assassins. Balsa, as always, is a force to be reckoned with - her prowess with a spear is unparalleled, and she demolishes the attackers with ease. The prince is safe, and the festival-goers are none the wiser - blissfully unaware of the danger that they were in.

As the night wears on and the festival draws to a close, Balsa and Chagum find themselves surrounded by the children who helped them earlier. They are grateful for the help that Balsa and Chagum have given them, and are inspired by their bravery. Balsa, in turn, is deeply moved by the children's kindness and tenacity, and realizes that she has learned a great deal from them. As they prepare to leave the city, Balsa and Chagum share a moment of reflection, thinking about the people they have met and the adventures they have had. They both know that there are many challenges ahead, but feel stronger and more capable for having faced them together.
