With the Chief Concubine out of danger, the team continues their investigation. They find out that the Chief Concubine had no motive to kill the King, and she had a good relationship with him. They then suspect the Queen, who had been in a bitter relationship with the King for a long time. However, the Queen denies any involvement in the case, and it becomes tough to prove her involvement.

Balsa requests the Queen to let her use a risky technique, which involved extracting the remaining poison from the King's body.
