Ep 7. Because I am...

The seventh episode of the first season of SERVAMP is entitled "Because I am...." The episode features the continuation of the conflict between Tsubaki and Kuro, two of the seven Servamp vampire clans and their respective evolutions, Eves Mahiru and Misono.

The episode begins with the fight between Tsubaki and Kuro, where Tsubaki boasts about his abilities and beauty while Kuro keeps quiet. Eventually, Kuro reveals that he has realized the root of Tsubaki's hatred - he envies Kuro's bond with his Eve. This realization brings out the core difference in the characters of the two Servamps - while Kuro cherishes his bond with Mahiru, Tsubaki yearns for a connection with his own Eve.

Meanwhile, Mahiru and Misono are locked in a room together by the other Servamps to try and force Misono to consume human blood and awaken his full potential as a vampire. However, Mahiru refuses to let Misono give up his humanity and tries to encourage him to find an alternative way to tap into his powers. Misono gets upset and admits that he feels useless because he is not as strong as the other Eves, but Mahiru reassures him that he has his own unique strength in his ability to heal and comfort others.

Eventually, the two pairs make their way to a garden where Tsubaki has gathered a collection of plants which he claims can bring forth new life. In reality, these plants are actually cursed and can only bring death and decay. Tsubaki intends to use them to create a new world where he can rule over everything. Kuro, Mahiru, and Misono band together to face Tsubaki and destroy the garden before it's too late.

The climax of the episode takes place in a somewhat emotional confrontation between the two Servamps. Kuro sincerely offers Tsubaki an opportunity to take the first step towards understanding his Eve. Tsubaki's vendetta against Kuro is born out of a need for companionship, so when Kuro consoles him, Tsubaki recognizes his own longing for companionship which he has been previously masking.

Overall, "Because I am...." touches on the theme of human connection and how it applies to both the Servamps and their Eves. It's a pivotal episode for both Tsubaki and Misono as they are each shown, in their own way, the importance of bonds and find new ways to move forward. The show mixes thrilling action and humor with underlying drama to create a well-rounded episode worth watching.
